ORDER FOUNDING: Tradition indicates Ascension Day 033M37, but sources are considered apocryphal.
ORDER MASTER: Canoness Superior Enyo Xanthippe
ORDER CONVENT: Convent Sanctorum
ORDER HISTORY: The Ordo Lucerna Aurea was created to follow in the footsteps of the revered Saint Diogenes of Sinope IV, an Imperial mystic who led a mission into the Halo Stars in the Galactic North. After desperate battles with strange and unholy forces most of the mission returned, but the Confessor-Militant and a small group of the most faithful plunged on into the unknown, eventually losing astropathic contact with Sinope IV and never to be heard from again. For many years after, his known planetary stops and final trajectory became sanctus exilio, a holy pilgrimage of no return that only the most zealous or penitent undertook. The Ordo Lucerna Aurea, or “Order of the Golden Lamp” in Low Gothic, was created to accompany an unusually large group of pilgrims undertaking this journey, and also to search for relics of the Saint presumed martyred in the Halo Zone. The Ordo Lucerna Aurea has faithfully carried out this mission since the early centuries of M37, and despite regular losses of horrific scale, sends routine task forces to engage in a perpetual crusade against the unholy, alien, and bizarre of the furthest fringes of the Galaxy.
ORDER HOMEWORLD: Sinope IV
ORDER HERALDRY: Per pale sable and gules, a sable lamp within an Imperial Sol Invictus or, four fleur-dis-lys argent surrounding.
ORDER STANDARD: A large vexillo bello depicting the ordo’s heraldry, or alternatively either a standard fleur-dis-lys or a stylized oil lamp.
LIVERY: Black trimmed yellow armor with white robes.
